28 Jun 2010 - Ford Ka (1996-08) Review
Fords little Ka is everybody's favourite.
Way back in 1996 Ford introduced the Ka. With its unusual looks and striking features the Ka definately stood out from the crowd, least not for its memorable name.
The first thing you notice with the Ka is its size, it is smaller than the fiesta, although it doesn't feel much smaller once inside. The Ka can squeeze four adults plus a bit of luggage in its tiny frame.
On the road the Ka responds well, the little 1.3, whilst not the quickest or most refined, is adequate. Handling wise the Ka simply cannot be beaten by anything else in its class, the steering is sharp and responsive and displays a confidence that some bigger cars would envy.
In short the Ka makes a fine choice for anyone wanting a cheap to run town vehicle. On longer journeys it may feel slightly overworked.
Watch for early signs of rust showing on sills and around the windscreen as this is the Ka's achilles heel.
